Hey y’all, I'm Dr. Danielle McCamey, and I’m passionate about transforming nursing through mentorship, education, and visionary leadership. I’ve been in the nursing game for over 20 years of experience and over a decade as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. I’ve had the privilege of working across specialties like perianesthesia, palliative, and critical care. My journey in nursing education began with a BSN from the University of Virginia, followed by an MS in Acute Care Advanced Practice and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Georgetown University. To deepen my impact, I pursued a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace certification from the University of South Florida and completed a Nonprofit Management Executive program at Georgetown.

I am a creator, innovator and trailblazer. I love to build communities that create opportunities. Because I understand that the difference to one’s success is..Opportunity.  As the founder of DNPs of Color, I’ve done that for nurses of color with DNP degrees.  I’m deeply committed to creating a space where nurses of color can find community, mentorship, and advocacy. I started DNPs of Color to empower and amplify diverse voices within doctoral nursing practice and clinical leadership, opening doors to representation and equity in healthcare. Seeing our community grow to nearly 2,000 DNP-prepared nurses, students, and aspiring professionals has been inspiring. Together, we’re not only impacting patient care but also redefining the future of nursing, one connection at a time.
